noname venue

Coxswains · Nightlife

no fuss.
no frills.

An intimate night built around quality music — a network of makers, players and appreciators that became a community and a movement in its own right. Retired in honour of partner and lead curator Ahmed Samy El-Adl.

What it stood for

quality music, first.

For five years noname was an intimate night — congregating a network of quality music makers, players and appreciators into a community and a movement in its own right.

It hosted tens of international and local selectors as an alternative to the mass-appeal mainstream. Following the passing of our partner and lead curator Ahmed Samy El-Adl, we retired the brand as an offering to his legacy.

What it is

the room.

Quality over mass

A music-first philosophy — electronic quality over mass appeal.

A night, not a venue

noname moved — the room changed, the standard didn’t.

Community first

Makers, players and appreciators — a community that became a movement.

noname is no longer running. It closed in honour of partner and lead curator Ahmed Samy El-Adl, whose ear shaped every night of it.
